During September 2025, applications for the standard were opened, with 96 Egyptian and Arab organizations submitted. According to the standards for the standard, 28 organizations were selected to move to the review stage. They are among the organizations that are compatible with the requirements of the standard and possess good institutional capabilities.
The standard aims to enhance institutional efficiency, incorporate best environmental practices, and apply sustainable working methods within civil society organizations. The work stages of the standard include: announcement, submission, selection, awareness, review, and then accreditation and granting gold, silver, and bronze accreditation certificates according to the percentage of compliance with the standards of the standard during the review.
An awareness training program is currently being implemented for employees of accepted organizations, including environmental practices, climate action, institutional quality, and sustainable development. At the end of December 2025, the review phase will begin to evaluate the organizations’ compliance with the standards and their eligibility for accreditation certificates
This standard represents an important step towards greener and more efficient NGOs, and a greater impact on the sustainability of society and the environment.
